Tech, Trade & Transformation: Strengthening Malaysia-India Relations

What happens when two fast-growing economies join forces? A future driven by technology, trade, and transformation.

Leading the charge, Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry, Malaysia, Chin Tong Liew, spearheaded a high-impact Trade and Investment Mission (TIM) across New Delhi and Mumbai—building bridges in semiconductors, chemicals, industrial tech, and renewable energy.

With India’s semiconductor boom and Malaysia’s proven supply chain strength, a partnership is in the making! In New Delhi, Liew met India’s Minister of State for Commerce & Industry, Shri Jitin Prasada, to lay the groundwork for a structured collaboration—connecting governments, businesses, and industry leaders.

The aim? A strategic semiconductor alliance to drive innovation, investment, and industry growth.

Furthermore, at the prestigious Raisina Dialogue, Liew joined world leaders in a session titled “Concert of Oceans: Towards A Digital Indo-Pacific.” His message was clear: Malaysia is committed to digital innovation, economic resilience, and strategic cooperation in the region. Discussions with Minister Jaykumar Jitendrasingh Rawal explored partnerships in semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, logistics, and agritech—sectors ripe for collaboration.

Malaysia’s NIMP 2030, National Semiconductor Strategy (NSS), and Green Investment Strategy took center stage at a roundtable with 30 industry leaders—sparking exciting new possibilities for business expansion. The programme ended with a visit to Gentari India’s solar facility—a Petronas subsidiary and India’s largest B2B renewable energy provider. This reinforces Malaysia’s role in driving sustainable energy solutions across borders.

With Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), Malaysian Investment Development Authority, and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) leading the way, Quocent is also ready to put innovation at work by driving digital transformation, AI, and Odoo smart solutions for Malaysia-India growth. This visit has set the stage for deeper collaboration, stronger investments, and a future shaped by technology, sustainability, and shared growth.
